University, it’s a lovely thing. Thankfully in just a week the first semester will be over, and Samuel and myself will be making our way back to Londonderry. Hopefully this will mean us getting up to lots of silly activities and what have you.
However, this certainly doesn’t mean that any of this will appear online in the near future. The last video we made is still on the to do list, and if I’m right, it was recorded 3 months ago to the day, but nothing at all has been done with it. Shame really, it involved a scythe!
I’ll try to get up a few older videos tonight, now that I’ve actually got a bit of time..
The other project that we’re working on at the moment is the online Winston scrapbook. We would very much like to get this done as quickly as possible, but so far it’s progress has been held back by considerable procrastination, and a few technical problems. In fact we might be right back at the drawing board. But don’t let that get you down.
It is also our intention to make a second hard copy version of the Big Book of Winston. The last one, as far as I know, is still sitting in D17. I would like to think Lord Hease will see sense and put it in a display cabinet outside his door for the benefit of future generations. It wasn’t terribly complete, which is quite sad really. Unfortunately, it was missing documentation of two of his trips to Scotland, but with this 2nd Edition, such matters will be taken care of.
Good times!
If I wasn’t involved with BATW up to my eyeballs, I’d want to know what was going on, which is exactly what I am going to tell you in this post.
Firstly, Sam has left for university. Obviously, this is a bit of a blow for Bored At The Weekend. But then is it really? Since Sam’s early morning departure, yesterday, we’ve already had one brilliant idea for the reunion (seems sad calling BATW meetings reunions…), and doubtless more will follow. For your information, the next planned outing is at the end of October, the exact date yet to be confirmed.
Secondly (and I’m getting near the end now), there will be brand new material online soon. This material will be of the stoke coke nature, so if this is not quite your tea of cup, please be patient, there are other ideas in the “pipeline”. The humour to this last statement should become apparent when the new videos make their way to the site. Whether it will or not is entirely another matter.
Thirdly, Mr Winston Churchill’s online home is going to be established on this fine website at some point in the next 14 days. Sir Heasley had the following to say on the matter:
“It was a very good joke lads, well done”
I’m absolutely delighted he liked it.
Fourthly, join us on Facebook, because it’s lots of fun.
Fifthly, I’ve forgotten what I was going to say, which is probably just as well.
Much love,
Bored At The Weekend xx
Keen followers of Bored At The Weekend will no doubt be aware that a few months ago, www.boredattheweekend.co.uk was swallowed up by the giant internet blackhole known only to us as Gregory, never to be seen or heard of again. No, I don’t really know what happened to it. But it was a bit annoying. However, after this brief spell of inactivity, we have returned to the web, with a new domain, new website, new ideas and new videos. It’s all happening right here, you wouldn’t want to miss out. I also heard a passing rumour that a certain Mr Churchill was going to surface here, you never know. So stay tuned over the next few weeks (until the 29th to be exact) for updates, exciting updates. It’s going to be brilliant.
